History:The painting was restored about 1980. It reportedly was stored for over a hundred years in a closet in a home on Old Harding Road, Nashville.
Notes:The subject was from Williamson County, TN. She was the daughter of CSA Gen. Wilkins Whitfield. She married first Dr. McPhale and then a Mr. Nichol from Bellevue, TN.
