History:This is a portrait of an older woman, her head and shoulders, in a dark dress with a white bonnet and white ribbons from the bonnet hang across her chest.
Notes:A copy of this portrait is in the collection of the Nashville Public Library and it is also included in the papers of the Tennessee State Library and Archives. Eliza Dewees Tannehill was born in 1789 in Kentucky and died in 1843 in Nashville. She married Wilkins Tannehill in 1810.
