History:This portrait is in poor condition. It has been cut from a stretcher and rolled. The cylinder was crushed leaving 14 horizontal stripes of paint loss across the center from top to bottom. Numerous feathery losses are scattered oer the surface. The portrait is of a middle-aged seated man, wearing a black suit. He is wearing a lodge ornament with the name J.W. Howard on it. This is holding a red ribbon, which depicts a three-link chain. In the ring are the initials, PGM. Beneath that is a metal with the words "Love, Truth, Friendship which is surrounding an open hand palm that has a heart within it.
