Notes: Ephraim H. Foster, 1794-1854, Nashville, Tennessee, served as private secretary to Andrew Jackson during the Creek War. An 1824 large oil on canvas portrait of the Foster family, also by artist Earl, is in the art collection at the Cheekwood Museum, Nashville, Tennessee.
