History:Portrait was painted by Cornelius Hankins from a tintype photograph of Sophia at about 3 years old. The portrait was purchased from a Hankins descendent in 2011, and was accompanied by a letter from a daughter of Cornelius and Sophia Hankins, passing down the portrait and explaining the above history. The letter is undated, but is obviously 40 to 50 years old
