History:Portrait was created posthumously from a photograph. Portrait of the owner's father given to her mother by the commanding general of Peterson Field, Colorado Springs, CO following the death of the subject in a plane crash while on active duty in the USAF.
Notes:Col. Beatty was born 1902 in Athens, GA and died February 4, 1948. He is buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Memphis, TN.
