History:The painting descended in the Grundy, Wharton and White families of Nashville, Tenn. Jane Eliza White was the daughter of Gen. William White and the grandmother of Mary Bass Cole, both of Nashville, TN. Jane Eliza's brother George Wharton White' portrait was also painted by artist Cooper.
