His curly grey hair is parted on his left and rises high off his forehead, brushes backwards on the side of his head, and culminates in forward curling sideburns.   • Notes:William Carroll born March 3, 1788 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania - died March 22, 1844 - buried City Cemetery, Nashville. Married Cecelia Bradford of Fauguier County, Virginia. She was daughter of Henry Bradford and the former Elizabeth Payne Blackmore. Carroll was governor of Tennessee 1821-1827 and 1829-1833. Fought in Battle of 1812, bringing reinforcements to Andrew Jackson, thus winning the battle.
