Description:Older man with greying collar-length hair parted in the middle holds a white gavel. Masonic vest with 11 stars and central medallion and left shoulder epaulette worn over dark suit and bow tie and white shirt.
History:The artist, Washington Bogart Cooper, was commissioned to paint most of the Grand Masters, which explains the approximate date of Claiborne's portrait. Restored in 2010 - Sponsor Hiram Lodge No. 7.
Notes:Masonic years 1813-1814 make this portrait subject the earliest in the collection.
