  • History:This portrait was given to the Carter House by the Cooper family.
  • Notes:James Cooper is the boy in the center. He was a good friend of Captain Tod Carter, whose family lived in the Carter House, and they fought together in the Battle of Franklin. Captain Carter died in his family home of the wounds he sustained in that battle.
