History:Portrait came to the University in 2002 through the estate of Lorna McClenahan Anderson, great grand daughter of Emily Thorn Vanderbilt Sloane White.
Notes:Emily Thorn Vanderbilt Sloane White was the fifth of nine children born to William H. and Maria Louisa Kissam Vanderbilt. Her husband of 43 years, William Douglas Sloane, died in 1915. She later married diplomat, Henry White.
