Notes:Ephraim Hubbard Foster (1794-1854) was born in Nelson Co., KY. His family moved to Nashville where he graduated from Cumberland College. He served as privated secretary to Andrew Jackson in the Creek War. He served in the state house representing Davidson County and was speaker of the house. He served in the US Senate (1838-39 and 1843-45) and ran for governor of TN as a Whig candidate. After his resignation, he resumed his law practice in Nashville. The subject was buried in the Nashville City Cemetery when he died 8 October 1854.
