History:This portrait, commissioned by the Board of Trust in 1950, hangs in Kirkland Hall on Vanderbilt's campus.
Notes:Born in Mississippi, Frank C. Rand, graduated from Vanderbilt in 1898 and worked his way up in the International Shoe Company to become president of the St. Louis based business. He became a Trustee on Vanderbilt's Board of Trust in 1912 and served as president from 1935 until his death in 1949. Rand Hall, which houses the dining center, bookstore, post office, and other student related services, is named in memory of Frank C. Rand.
