History:This is one of two paintings of Isaac Franklin listed in Washington Cooper's journal. This painting descended throught the family of Isaac Franklin's brother William Franklin.
Notes:The portrait was featured in the Spring 2007 Belmont Mansion Association Newsletter, which describes its accidental discovery by the Mansion's Executive Director in an Alabama antique shop--purchased from someone in Mississippi. It now is home again at Belmont Mansion.
