Notes:Later in his career, he was executive director of the Tennessee Bar Association from 1983 to year 2000. He earned his juris doctor degree from University of Tennessee School of Law in 1957. Gil was also known as "Ace" to his lifelong friends from his school days ni Knoxvile at Tyson Middle School and Knoxville High School, class of 1950, and college at University of Tennessee, where he graduated in 1954.
