  • Description:Blue predominates in this portrait of a young girl seated on a door step with her legs facing toward the out-of-doors seen in the background. She is learning lightly against the door and is looking directly at the viewer with her head turned over her right shoulder. Her hands are clasped in her lap and her right leg is crossed over her left knee. The kerchief she wears completely covering her hair, her dress, and the curtain visible at the right are all blue or patterns with blue as the dominant color. There is a patch of pink at the neck and ends of her dress sleeves, and the warmer rose tone is repeated on the stone seat.
