History:This came to current owner through grandfather's family, Richard King Gibson, Jr. It hung in the dining room of Elizabeth Varnell Gibson Madden.
Notes:Born 1777 and died 1840 in Nashville. He was a Congressman, a U. S. Senator and a Democratic leader. Born in Virginia; lawyer at age 20.
