History:The portrait probably hung at Glen Leven in Nashville. It was later moved to a niece's house and passed down through several Thompson family generations. Portrait is currently located out of state.
Notes: Mary Maxwell 1829-1914 was the sister of Harriet Maxwell, Mrs. John Overton Jr. She was the daughter of Jesse Maxwell Jr. & Martha Ravenscroft Claiborne. She was a "maiden lady" who moved to Travellers Rest after her father's death in 1856 and helped raise the Overton children.
