History:Subject commissioned the portrait in 1946 painted in her wedding dress - Given to her son Hunter McDonald Jr. at her death, then given by her grandson to his daughter Clara McDonald Milligan.
Notes:Mrs. Mcdonald was born at Cross Bridges in Maury County in 1867, daughter of Richard Cross Gordon and Mary Camp Webster. Subject died 2 September 1952, internment Rose Hill Cemetery in Columbia, Tennessee. Married 1892 - graduated from the old Columbia Institute in Columbia, Tennessee.
