Description:Frame is original wood. Oval bust-length of a man turned to reveal a slightly left profile. His eyes are blue and his scraggy brown hair hangs in separated locks on his forehead. his left ear is prominent and stick out between his curly sideburn and the collar-length locks in the back. He is dressed in a buttoned up black vest and opened black jacket. His cheeks have a sunken quality.
History:Painted at Moore's home: Montgomery Square, Mont. Co., PA. Note on back by Sarah Fussell (Mrs Charles) Macaulay dated 12/15/74 says "Henry Moore by Raphaelle Peale son of Charles Willson Peale whose third wife, Hannah, was Henry's sister."
