  • Description:Life-size portrait of above subject at age 14 standing facing slightly three-quarter right, with his right hand on the back of a chair and his left holding a black hat. His head is turned to look directly at the viewer. His dark hair is parted in the middle, and he wears a dark suit over a white, high-collared shirt and black tie.
  • History:Owners believe Myra Thompson of Spring Hill painted this portrait along with same owner's portrait of Capt. M. C. Campbell. However this portrait is signed M R Thompson while others by this artist are signed Myra Thompson. Signatures appear to slightly differ. This painting has been in family since painted and was recently restored. It is in the original frame.
  • Notes:Subject married Mattie (Patsy) Campbell (daughter of Capt. McCoy Clemson Campbell) and great-aunt of owner of portrait.
