History:This portrait is in need of restoration. It needs cleaning, relining, varnishing, inpainting and a solid support applied for stabilization. The portrait was done when the subject was 84 years old. It came to the State Museum from Robertson descendents.
Notes:Charlotte Reeves Robertson (1751-1843) was the wife of James Robertson. She was a member of the first large group of settlers to arrive in Middle TN. She traveled on the Donelson flotilla while her husband led men overland with the animals to the site that is now Nashville. Her son, Felix Robertson is the first recorded white child born in the area.
