  • Description:Near waist-length miniature of a woman with dark curly hair parted in the middle with the curls falling over her forehead, pulled up to the top of her head, and falling down behind her neck. She is wearing a long-sleeved (with caplets at the shoulders), low-cut dress in a soft peach fabric trimmed with red rosettes down the front. Her right hand is visible, and there is a band of the same red around her wrist at the end of the sleeve and a red ring on her index finger.

  • Notes:Ruth was John Sevier's daughter. She was the wife of Col. Richard Sparks and Daniel Vertner.
