  • Description:Frame is replacement black painted wood with plain gilded metal bezel. Rectangular image of a man with wispy brown hair, receding hairline on his right side, blue eyes. Dressed in a navy blue coat with brass buttons, white shirt and tie.
  • History:Painted in Wahsington, DC. Turner was a member of a prominent North Carolina family. He married the daughter of Francis Scott Key, author of the "Star Spangled Banner." It descended in the family until the late 1990s when it was purchased by Sumpter Priddy.
