  • Description:Frame is original gold plated on copper with oval hair opening with woven hair design at upper center of back. Oval of young sandy, curly headed man with light green eyes. He is dressed in a buttoned up-to-the neck dark coat with 6 (?) covered buttons visible. The background is a soft pinkish, giving the whole work's cast a soft pale rosy glow.
  • History:Painted in possibly New York or New Orleans. Exhibited National Museum of Wales, loaned 1967-71, according to Christie's catalog. Illus. Christie's catalog London April 15, 1997.
