Description:Frame is velvet covered wood with gilt metal fittings and gilt inner frame. Woman in a blue dress seated in a red chair holding a red rose in her right hand. Her left arm is wrapped around a chubby boy in a red velvet coat.
History:Painted in New York City. On paper attached to the back of the ivory is written "Painted by Thos. S. Officer New York, Octr 20th 1847."
