  • Description:Mother and Daughter. Daughter is Louisa Watkins. Mother had black hair, dark eyes and is wearing a black dress with a white lace collar and brooch at the neck and white lace at the wrists. Daughter has blonde curls and dark eyes, is wearing a bluish-green dress with lace at the neckline and sleeves, and is holding a pink rose.

  • Notes:Louisa Hardyman Hairston Watkins was born 21 April 1821 at Marrowbone Plantation in Henry County, Virginia. She married Peter Wilson Watkins 17 September 1844, and they lived at Shawnee Plantation in Henry County. She died in 1873. Louisa Watkins, b. 15 August 1852, married John Tyler Hairston 24 November 1874 at Shawnee Plantation. She died 2 February 1940 at Roanoke, Virginia.
