Description:Hip-length frontal of a young girl, age 4 or 5, in a white dress with a pink and blue sash. She is holding a small bouquet with two pink rose buds with her left hand. Her right hand seems to be in a pocket. A large dark-shaped object is on her right. Her straight dark hair is parted in the middle.
History:Posthumously painted in Hendersonville, Tennessee, as the subject died at age 4 or 5 from diptheria in Sumner County, Tennessee.
Notes:Subject was the daughter of Dr. & Mrs. H. I. Wells and is the owner's cousin.
