History:Portrait has passed through the Wendel and Murfree families.
Notes:Subject was born ca. 1840. Daughter of Sara Keeble Wendel and David Deadrick Wendel. Her father held various city and county government positions. The family story is that she died of a fever during the Civil War and her mother refused to bury her until her husband came back to Murfreesboro to be present for her funeral and burial.
