Her high button boots and stockings are also light blue. The boy has dark hair and eyes. He is wearing a dark grey jacket with wide white cotton ruffled edge collar and light blue bow. His short pants are also dark. His mid-calf socks are tan and his shoes are black. Both children have fair skin and rosy cheeks. Ages are approximately 5 or 6 for the boy and 7 or 8 for the girl.
History:Another portion of this original painting included the oldest child, Saidee Williams.
Notes: The children are Mildred "Millie" Hopson Williams (1874-1907) and Samuel Morgan Williams (1876-1939) They are the 2nd and 3rd children born to John Phillip Williams (1848-1921) and his wife Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" Slaughter Cheney (1850-1893). Mildred married Calvin Goodloe, who died in 1934, single without issue. Morgan married Fannie Rhea Frith and had one daughter, Leland, who died as a young adult. The eldest Williams child was Sarah "Saidee" Gladys Cheney Williams (1872-1963) who married Jesse Maxwell Overton (1863-1920). The other children were: John Phillip Williams, Jr. (1878-1954), Baxter Williams (1880-1887), and Edward Leland Williams (1882-1905). Prior to 1889 the Williams family home was located on Spruce Street between Church and Broad in Nashville.
