  • Description:Seated portrait of a middle-aged man in black formal attire with white shirt. His right hand holds a cane; his left black gloves. He is balding and his black hair is combed over from his left to right. He has thick mutton-chop side burns. He is seated on a red chair and a white column is in the left background. The artist's signature "J.T. Poindexter 1873" is on the lower right.
  • History:Restored by Cumberland Art Conservation in the early 1990s.
  • Notes:Subject was married to Ann Rogers Winston, #243. Subject was on the first board of the Medical College of Nashville.
